Before the mist came people were using the seru like tools. So what do you think the seru did before they all went mad. Like I think that Gimard was probably a Lawn Mower or a Hair Cutter. What do you think

actually, if i remember correctly, those serus where born in the mist, the other serus were for lifting, transport, even flying! the idea of the elemental serus being used is intresting though
if i remember correctly, its said in the begining that when humans learn of seru, they use it to build civilizatins! and monuments and etc

In the opening movie they already had Gimard. and It went crazy and started pecking that one chick.So I'm pretty sure they had the same Seru before the mist came.

Yes, Seru were around long before the Mist. The Mist was a man-made creation that was originally supposed to make the Mist stronger. It did make them stronger, no doubt, but it also drove them mad and people started becoming "possessed" by the Seru they owned.

In reality, the only reason the Mist was there was for a weapon against Sol in the war. But Cort and his comrades had a more sinister plan in the beginning, which is why the entire world was taken over by the Mist.

I'm sure they did a variety of things, from helping with building advanced civilization to helping with household chores like cooking and cleaning. And of course, they helped people kill each other in war.

Fights must have been brutal though. Can you imagine how much destruction people who can lift stones heavier than themselves and run faster than wolves can cause?

Oh boy.

But I'm thinking that each one had to have a specific job. Or else they would just all look the same
