It's pretty easy to go somewhere in the game where you're not intended to-- prime example being the in the Fire Path. There's a lil ledge there right before the lava area that, once you get to it, it's nearly impossible (if not impossible period) to leave.

I got it in the early 00s. Grinded for awhile because I read about it on the internet and was determined to get it and see it for myself. Even back ten I was a completionist so gamesharking didn't count for me.

Very impressive guys. Thanks for the details, I actually avoided the crimson books because I wasn't interested in gaining levels due to the game's difficulty. I suppose with those items it does help.

Does he say anything to hint that he wants you to get to level 99 before giving you the key?

As far as I am aware, no, he doesn't hint at it in any way. Of course, no one waits to get it at L99 anymore now that we just get it via glitch right after Saryu.

Basically either someone hacked the game to find out or someone got lucky one day and felt like talkin' to him after reaching level 99.

I believe a hint was dropped about Saryu having a secret gift for powerful heroes in the peripheral literature. Some guide or magazine article about the game perhaps.

I`m trying the door glitch right now just to see if it works for me on a PS3 system. hard enough without a turbo controller but its got to be easy after doing the tortcher sequence in Metal Gear Solid 1...lol

I only did the glitch becaus I can only play Legaia on the PS3 and I aint got time to get to lvl 99
