I've played through this multiple times so every once in a while I'll rename Vahn, Noa and Gala to something different. My current playthrough:

Vahn - Dai Rui (my Chinese name. Dai is just a common surname and Rui means auspicious or lucky)

Noa - Idunna (Idunna is Old Norse for "loving one")

Gala - Bishamon (In Japanese, the name Bishamon means- the japanese god of war)

I decided giving them names with different origins would be nice since they're all from different parts of Legaia

lol, there have been tons of names I've used. I've used my own name before (Will), with Noa being my girlfriends name (Amanda), and Gala just being something random (sometimes a friends name). I've named Gala the worse names before, such as simple names like "poop" to some pretty bad ones...curse words and all, lol. I just don't like Gala that much

I've always jumped around between my favorite character in the party, I go through stages.

One time I decided I liked Vahn the least and named him c***fist lol

Anyway, I don't think I've ever liked Gala, lol. He's just...kind of annoying, I guess. I think it's funny how most people think he's young but he's actually older. I'm not saying 60 old but probably in his late 20's...Young, but not a 18 year old like some try and make him sound.

Haha, Gala is unintentionally hilarious at times. I lol'd when trying to go to Zeto's Castle while on the way to West Voz and you get the cutscene where Gala tells Vahn and Noa that they give him the creeps. Watching Noa slowly crack open his personality was great too.

When I was in Japan a few years ago I rushed to the nearest video game store I could find that had PS1 games and managed to pick up a Japanese copy of The Legaia for like $6.00 US. I discovered within the game pamphlet that they included tons more information about the characters (and extra FMV images) that would have been nice to have in the NA and PAL versions - in total the pamphlet in the front is 59 pages long

For Vahn, Noa, Gala, Songi and Mei it includes detailed character bios such as: height, age, weight, likes and dislikes, favorite food, etc. I'll scan the pamphlet sometimes tomorrow but here are the stats for the characters listed:

Vann(Vahn)

Height: 152cm (5'0)
Weight: 48kg (105.6 lbs)
Age: 14

Noah (Noa)

Height: 143cm (slightly over 4'8)
Weight: 34kg (74.8 lbs)
Age: 12

Ghara (Gala)

Height: 178cm (5'10)
Weight: 82kg (180.4 lbs)
Age: 18

May (Mei)

Height: 154cm (5'1)
Age: 15

Songhi (Songi)

Height: 180cm (5'11)
Weight: 83kg (182.6 lbs)
Age: 19

Haha, I've come up with quite a few inappropriate ones. Unfortunately I can't get as creative in Duel Saga with the names because they reduced the max letters in making a name to 6 for some reason

Interesting that they say Noa is 12. That means she was 2 years old when the Mist first came around, but I don't think I recall 2 year olds being put into baby robes and all that like newborns, lol. Anyway, I'll have to edit that part of my page...

Gala 18? The battle between him and Songi must have been WHILE the mist was around, then. There's no way he was 8 years old with the character model being the same as later in the game...Not to mention that the model used for him in battle makes him look like an old man. How deceiving (and makes me look like a fool! lol).

The way I make sense of Noa being 12 is that she was most likely born a short time after the first Mist incident and a decent amount of time had passed before the Mist Generator in the Absolute Fortress was completed. I guess the guys who did the character models are to blame lol.

As for Gala, I always assumed the tournament took place some time fairly recently, like maybe a couple years before Vahn and Noa's arrival. That would explain Songi's huge obsession with getting the Seru and becoming stronger than Gala. I think it would be really hard to be constantly bitter at someone, even to a rival, for more than 10 years xD

I have an update on this. While in the process of making a script for the game I went through Gala's flashback scene again. Apparently Zopu says in the beginning that the Mist had come eight years beforehand, so Gala was 16 and Songi 17 during the ritual tournament.

Oops, must have skimmed through that dialogue too fast. While making my site and all the info for the game, I had to rush through the dialogues reading at fast paces to get the site done faster. I may have clicked too fast for that one! xD

anyway: Didn't anyone else even name their parties?
