I originally played on Playstation 1 when it first came out.....I recall the reason for not finishing was that I couldn't get the spells from the genesis trees for each character and I also didn't realize I didn't know the miracle arts based on leveling. I also didn't know that I needed to beat Songi the third time for it to give those spells......at that time. I thought the game was messed up and quit (using the Bart Farkas guide). I found out that his tips basically suck and are premature and missed those key elements.....therefore I didn't have the drive to continue based on an "glitch" that never was.

Fast forward, I found the emulator and played it out, leveled to about 41/42 per player.....and finally closed this part of black hole that I always wanted to finish. Maybe I'll check out #2.

I think that is common. Most random battles are easy and can be defeated in one or two moves. Gala moves last, so he usually only sees action in serious battles. Also he is often the designated healer.

Good job though man on finishing the game!

Yeah, it can be frustrating with no detailed guide. Legaia can definitely be a 'where the f*ck do I go?' game.
