top things you like and hate most on legend of legaia
Re: top things you like and hate most on legend of legaia
No, I'm talking about the arts themselves. In Legend of Legaia, once you've learned an art, the animation process is only long at first. After that, they're immediate. I'm talking about regular arts, not mystic arts. In Legaia 2, they show the entire animation for each art every single time (whether it's a new learned art or not).

I'll try to differentiate mine from everyone else's, as far as repeating stuff goes
Like:
Gaza - himself, his design, his boss fights, his story, the Astral Sword,etc
The Delilas Family - loved the 1v1 fighting, plus the designs of the characters are great too
Soundtrack - the "simple" songs fit in nicely, and the battle themes are fantastic
Martial arts/fighting game influence - I like both of those. Makes the battle system fresh and look awesome
Seru designs - big fan of the armor-type look to them/most of them. Sorta reminds me of robots, but all fantasy-like
Dislike:
Villains didn't get a lot of attention - most of the villains didn't get a whole lot of screen time, unfortunately. Not enough for me anyway
Astral Sword gameplay-wise - I LOVE the sword itself, but the fact that it takes up extra art block space without doing something like increasing damage big time or giving you a special art(s) didn't sit well with me
\
Most Seru gameplay-wise - Some like Kemaro and Orb and all that are great to have, but I felt that, most of the time, the Seru weren't very useful in battle. Not only did they take some time, they weren't particularly powerful/practical. Using Hyper Arts and long combos w/ Spirit usually did more damage, went faster, and sometimes looked better. Maybe if they dealt more damage or had multiple attacks or something

i think im the only one who enjoys long animations. Except Eden from ff8 but not the topic so I'll continue with the fact that i enjoy the long animations

Wow, I can't believe you mentioned Eden because thats exactly what I think of with long animations. Final Fantasy is really bad about that in general. I heard that in more recent Final Fantasy games they show the entire summon animation on its first use, and usually from then on a shortened version is showed, with occasionally showing the full one instead.
Legend of Legaia, a pinnacle of human achievement, will always have a place in my heart

yeah, ff13 does that. I actually hate ff13's ediolions they suck donkeyass. But compared to those animations Legaia has it good.

I really loved the soundtrack. I could whistle the rim elm theme all day.
The fighting was one of the greatest things in a game of the generation ever. Hard not to love it.
The fact that the armor and weapons actually visibly changed with the equip was fantastic. It'd always bug me in games that all the armor seemed to look the same lol

Red: I've seen a 10-way.
Ram: That's how I met your mother, Red.

Destuin= Dead
Dolor= Dead
CYOA= Dead
Furanda= Dead?

It's too bad that Legaia 2 didn't do the same thing with the armor and such changing... Only Lang's and Sharon's weapons

I occasionally watch the long animations, especially Barra and Puera and Kemaro. But sometimes I wanna skip it 'cause it's so long my chances of falling asleep increases.

Re: top things you like and hate most on legend of legaia
Battling in Legaia 2 definitely takes a lot longer. The Origins are faster than the Seru, yes but everything else is very clearly slower. Just watching Lang run up and go through a pretty slow sword combo is bad enough, but every art slo-mos as well.
And giant enemies can take awhile to even swing their arm once. Usually there's more than one hit as well. Then there's the higher HP.
It just all adds up. The difference between the two is VERY evident.

The only thing that really bothers me is that Seru spell animation can't be skipped. After I've seen Spoon 100+ time, I just wanna skip it.
